William Riehl

William Riehl, 73, resident of Cape Coral, Florida, died July 23, 2008 at Hope Hospice House, Cape Coral, Florida.� He was born in Grasmere, New Hampshire on April 25, 1935, a son of the late William G. & Ellen (OConnor) Riehl.� Mr. Riehl resided in Cape Coral and Sanibel Island, Florida for the past 10 years and formerly lived on Chestnut Hill in Amherst, NH. � He was employed as an independent sales agent for Lawson Products, Chicago, Illinois for many years.� Mr. Riehl was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He was a longstanding member of the Audubon Society and actively engaged in wildlife area management both in New Hampshire and Southwestern Florida. While in Florida Mr. Riehl served for many years as a volunteer at the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge including leading bird watching (a lifelong passion) and nature tours though the refuge. Mr. Riehl received several service awards including the US Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Directors Honor Award and the Presidents Call to Service Award.� He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather. Family members include his wife, Anne (Nourie) Riehl of Cape Coral, FL; daughter Katy Riehl of Center Barnstead, NH, daughter Sandra & Timothy Carbery of Amherst, NH; son Justin & Tracey Riehl of New Boston, NH; daughter Camille & Robert Price of Temple, NH; and 10 Grandchildren. Mr. Riehl was predeceased by a son, William G. Riehl, who died in 2006.� Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 30th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Congregational Church of Amherst, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH.� Burial will follow in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst.�
