Wayne E. Mosier, Sr., 74, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on June 9, 2024 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 8, 1949 in West Berkshire, VT, the son of Hudson “Bo” Mosier and Mildred (Searles) Mosier. His earliest years were spent on his family’s dairy farm before they relocated to Milford where his father eventually opened an auto body shop which in later years became the father and son B&W Auto on Elm Street. Ever the adventurer, somewhere in there he lived briefly in California before hitchhiking home.
Wayne was a proud Army veteran having served two tours of active duty in the Vietnam War where he was awarded four Army medals. He was the former commander and longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4368, Milford.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, traveling and camping. Wayne had also been employed as a police officer for the town of Wilton, NH after being honorably discharged from his military service and while continuing to serve in the National Guard. He spent many years as a commercial truck operator driving freight near and far. If you gave him at least two wheels, there wasn’t a road he couldn’t ride. In his later years, you could find him hanging around garages and part stores quick with a joke and telling everyone just exactly what they needed to do.
Wayne was predeceased by his son, Wayne Mosier, Jr., who died in 2014; and a sister, Patricia Mosier.
Family members include his loving wife, Sharon (McCullough) Mosier of Milford, NH; his children, Eric Tierno and his wife Aimee Lee Tierno of Gilford, NH, Melinda Mosier and her fiancé Stephen Beayon of North Walpole, NH;12 grandchildren, Ella, Emma, Lily, Jade, Amylynn, Dominique, Ryleigh, Damian, Kodi, Shalynn, Nathan, Landon and Owen; one great-grandson, Everett; two sisters, Jane Barton and Shelia Clegg; step children, Patrick and Laura Hunt of Manchester, Matthew and Lindsey Kaled of Nashua, Shayne Wright of Greenfield and Cheyenne Philbrick of Milford.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 22nd from 2:00-4:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Brief remarks will be made by family and friends at 3:30pm.
