Wallace J. McCafferty, 88, of Mont Vernon, NH, at home on January 13, 2015. Born in New York City on May 9, 1926, son of the late William and Josephine McCafferty. He graduated in 1944 from Woodrow Wilson Vocational High School. Wally proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He began his career as an architectural hardware consultant in NYC and worked for various companies in New York and New Hampshire before retiring in 1989. Wally was an avid hiker and backpacker; he loved spending time in the Adirondacks and the White Mountains. Survivors include his daughter Kathy Kelley and her Husband Joseph of Menands, NY, his son Keith McCafferty of Palm Bay, Florida; granddaughters Bridget and Clare Kelley; his sister Aileen Nevin, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Kevin McCafferty and his brother William McCafferty. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 4th at 2:30 p.m. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Highway, Route 3, Boscawen, NH.
