Fair winds and following seas have taken our love away. W. Barry Crawford, 80, longtime resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died on August 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on June 26, 1942, the son of William H. and Gertrude (Trow) Crawford. Barry was raised and educated in Merrimack, New Hampshire, graduating from Merrimack High School, Class of 1960.
Barry was a US Navy veteran attaining the rank of Petty Officer and was honorably discharged in 1964. He served in the Vietnam War.
Barry was very successful working in the Electronic Industry. He worked several years with Centronics as Materials Manager, President of NE Circuits for and VP Sales for Parlex Corp.
A true New Englander, Barry enjoyed working outside in his yard and feeding the birds and critters and playing with the yellow labs, Abby and Leeza. He also was an avid skier and in his younger years tried out for the Olympics.
Barry was an exceptional craftsman with wood and built many projects for his family. His favorite pastime was spending time on the lake and the ocean behind the wheel of his boat.
He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Andrew. Barry loved the New England sports teams, and also being out on the golf course with family and friends. He loved his home and friends and will always be remembered as a loving and caring family man.
Barry was predeceased by his brother, Peter W. Crawford, Son-in-law Kenneth Goodine and sister-in-law Linda Danis.
Family members include his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Lou (Messery) Crawford of Mont Vernon, NH; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathryn Goodine, and Deborah and Loren Wass; a son, W. Michael Crawford; a step daughter, Jennifer Tyszko and her husband, Robert; a stepson, Chris Thompson and his wife, Pam; grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Wass and his wife Candice, Taylor and Julia Thompson, Connor and Madison Crawford, and Samantha Tyszko; and four great grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Rocco Civiello; brother-in-law, Henry Danis; Adopted grandson Tony Bellafato and his wife Ali and their 3 children. several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, NH. Donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, 465 Waverly Oaks Road, Suite #202, Waltham, MA 02452.
