Virginia M. Zuk

Virginia M. Zuk, 80, resident of Jaffrey, NH, died on March 6, 2016 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. She was born in Malden, MA on September 12, 1935, a daughter of William and Mary (Simpson) Burke. She was raised in Concord, MA by Gertrude and Percy Bell. Virginia graduated from high school in Concord, MA in 1954 and had been a cheerleader and member of the basketball team. She had lived in Jaffrey for the past 20 months and formerly made her home in Nashua, NH for more than 50 years. She had been employed as an office clerk for Raytheon Corporation in Bedford, MA for many years. Mrs. Zuk enjoyed playing bingo and cribbage. She was a member of the Salem, NH Post #8546 VFW Auxiliary and Granite State Independent Living, Concord, NH. In addition, she was a board member of Letitia Pratt Foundation, Nashua and tenant member of Pratt Homes. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Zuk, who died in 1991, a brother, John Burke and a sister, Elizabeth DiGiantommaso. Family members include four sisters, Helen Foreman and Trudy Daley, both of Malden, MA, Phyllis MacDonald of North Reading, MA and Nan Bryant of Minneola, FL; a brother, William Burke of Derry, NH; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 11th at 10:00 am in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford, NH. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in chapel of The Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 20 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey, NH.
