Virginia A. Rood

Virginia A. “Ginny” Rood, 75, lifelong resident of Milford, died on April 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, NH on June 9, 1938, the daughter of Robert Holt Seavey and Audrey L. (Brown) Seavey Hill. Ginny had worked in the sales department at Label Art in Wilton and Kenmore Stamp, Milford. She enjoyed painting, going to the theater and playing the piano. She also loved traveling, especially to Cape Cod and California. Family members include her husband of 59 years, Elmer C. “Al” Rood of Milford, two daughters, Deborah Ellis and her husband, Dr. Richard Ellis of Redondo Beach, CA, Judy Laverty of Dennis Port, MA; two sons, Steven Rood and his wife, Allie of Milford, David Rood and his fiancé, Carol Rasmussen of Milford; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Kevin Hill of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 28th from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm.
