Susan L. Congdon

Susan L. Congdon, 67, resident of Townsend, MA, died on May 12, 2020 at her home, after her 6 month battle with cancer surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Durham, CT on May 19, 1952, a daughter of Robert T. and Marie Leona (Lanouette) Seifert. She was raised, and educated in Connecticut, and graduated from Marie Joseph Academy, Biddeford Pool, ME, Class of 1972, and the College of St. Joseph, Rutland, VT, Class of 1999. Susan made her home in Townsend, MA for the past 10 years and formerly lived in Vermont for more than 30 years. She had been employed as a Human Resource Counselor for Spectrum Youth and Family Services in Rutland, VT, for many years. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed working with hand carved leather, painting and drawing. In addition, she was a member of the Pepperell Christian Fellowship Church, Pepperell, MA. She enjoyed singing and playing guitar. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert T. Seifert, II, and her parents Robert T Seifert and Leona (Lanouette) Seifert. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Irene Congdon of Townsend, MA with whom she made her home; her daughter and son-in-law , A.J. And Rebecca Lee Schultz of Prospect, CT; six grandchildren, Liam, Rowen, Arthur, Leeann, Abby and Julia; a brother, Thomas D. Seifert of Durham, CT; and her former husband, Leland S. Congdon, Jr. of VT. A memorial service will be held in the Pepperell Christian Fellowship Church at a later date.
