Susan Beth Malaskiewicz, 49, of New York, NY and Nashua, NH died suddenly of a cardiac arrhythmia on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Ms. Malaskiewicz was born in Euclid, OH on July 8, 1959, the eldest of three children born to the late John and Helen (Wentland) Malaskiewicz. She attended elementary school in Findlay, OH and middle school in Lima, OH. She was a member of the Nashua (NH) High School Class of 1977, where she graduated in the Top 10 of her class. She attended the University of Chicago and was a member of the Class of 1981. She was pre-deceased by her father John Malaskiewicz, who passed away on December 21, 1997 and her mother, Helen Malaskiewicz, who also passed away on April 30, 2009. Ms. Malaskiewicz enjoyed a successful career as a computer consultant in New York City, working for clients such as Lazard Freres and Colgate Palmolive. She was a strong advocate for a greener planet and an avid recycler. Like her mother, her family meant the world to her. She cherished her niece and nephews who were always excited when they heard Auntie was coming for a visit. They especially loved her pumpkin waffles, french toast, Christmas cookies and homemade lasagna. A generous soul who frequently gave of her time to others, she had a tight circle of close friends. She had been a yoga enthusiast since college and was a rabid New York Yankees fan, much to the chagrin of her family. She enjoyed watching baseball games with her mother and never tired of debating the merits of the Yankees vs. Red Sox. She was voracious reader from a very young age and loved to write. She was fond of traveling and had visited Europe several times with friends and family. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and David Heald of Bedford, NH and her brother, Scott William Malaskiewicz of Nashua, NH; her nephews: godson John Maxwell Max Heald, Samuel Wentland Heald, James Jed Edward Heald II and her niece, Elizabeth Lilly Broughton Heald, all of Bedford, NH; her close friend James Lowe of New York, NY; three aunts and many cousins.
