Stephen J. Kerekes

Stephen J. Kerekes, 71, a 37 year resident of Amherst, NH, passed away on June 5, 2013. He was born in South River, NJ, the eldest son of the late Stephen and Mary (Pali) Kerekes of Brick, NJ. Stephen served in the United States Navy before beginning a forty year career in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He held positions at E.R. Squibb & Sons, New England Nuclear/DuPont, MIT, and eventually retiring from Genzyme Corporation. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, reading and cooking. He was predeceased by his son, James Kerekes; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harvey Swenson. Stephen is survived by his wife of fifty years, Roberta (Conover) Kerekes, his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, Joseph, Heather, and James of St. Petersburg, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Charles Amara of Milford, NH; his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Diane Kerekes of South River, NJ; his sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and William Doran of Williamsburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Sunday, June 9th from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.
