Stephan “Steve” Robert Brown of Amherst, NH and Harwich Port, MA passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sally, in 2017. Steve leaves behind many who loved him, including three children, Alison B. Premo and her husband Roger of Needham, Lindsay B. Perrin and her husband Matthew of Amherst, NH, and Christopher T. Brown and his wife Claire of Traverse City, MI, as well as six beloved grandchildren Caroline S. Perrin, Lillian S. Premo, Edward H. Premo, Emma L. Perrin, Lucy J. Perrin, and Steven R. Premo, his namesake. Steve was born to Clifton and Thelma Brown in Providence, RI on April 21, 1945. In his early years, he was often found causing mischief with his two brothers, Gil and Jeff. He and his family spent time boating and fishing off of Block Island, RI, and Steve developed a love of the sun, salt water, and the beach, which remained for all of his 76 years. After college, Steve settled in the Boston area where he met the three loves of his life: Sally, the Red Sox and the Patriots. There, he also began a career in sales. Steve was a natural salesman, bringing not just business and technical acumen to the job, but also a sense of easygoing joy & genuine dedication. Steve and Sally married in Bedford, NH and had three children before landing in beautiful Madison, CT. In 1995, Steve founded PDS (Practical Data Solutions) an innovative medical software company that still operates today. He led the company as an early adopter of data analytics, putting them at the heart of his client’s management practices. His vision and leadership brought success to his clients & employees, being well loved by both. Steve loved spending time at the family house in Harwich Port on Cape Cod, having many good times with family and friends playing ping pong in the garage, hosting cocktail hour, and sunning at Brooks Rd beach. He also enjoyed a special relationship with Sally’s father Herbert “Herbie” Muther managing many close calls on the grill together and quahogging in the Nantucket Sound. When Steve lost Sally in 2017, he moved to Amherst, NH to live with Lindsay and her family. He was surrounded by love and tender care by a group of caregivers to whom the family is forever grateful. Steve never missed an opportunity to bring positivity and joy to his relationships, professional and personal, being quick to a joke and always with a classic “Steve Brown” smile. He brought a sense of ease to those around him, and his generous soul was always putting others first. He coupled all this with steadfast integrity and humble determination. He will be forever missed. Following a private funeral service, all friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life held outdoors at LaBelle Winery, www.labellewinery.com, in Amherst, NH on Tuesday, October 26th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Support Network of Cape Cod, www.alzfamilysupport.org or the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry, www.comcaregivers.org.
