Sebastiano Crisafulli

Sebastiano (Buddy) Crisafulli, 93, of Milford – passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Crisafulli, born in Milford on April 13, 1923, was the son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Pagano) Crisafulli . He was a life- long resident of Milford and spent his childhood years on Cottage Street amongst family and friends. He left school early to help support his family, and at age 19 enlisted in the US Army. He served during WWII with the 483rd Anti-Air craft Artillery in the South Pacific , where he took part in the action at IWO Jima . In 2012, he was honored and awarded his high school diploma. After the war, Mr. Crisafulli returned to Milford to work in Wilton at the Abbot Machine shop, and later established the Boston Shoe Store in Greenville, NH. He married Eunice (Vercontaire) in 1950, enjoying 65 years of marriage. He was a dedicated husband and family man, and together they raised four children. He was also well known as the Shoe Cobbler in Milford where many customers enjoyed visiting, while watching the repair of their shoes. He enjoyed playing Cribbage, gardening, both vegetables and flowers and spending time with his family. Others may also remember Buddy from calling Bingo for many years at the VFW. In years past, Buddy was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Milford. He was pre-deceased by his wife Eunice, and is survived by his four children, Gloria Hansen of Sterling Virginia, Janet Kelly of Peabody Massachusetts, Brenda Crisafulli of Milford, and Michael Crisafulli of Brooklyn NY: ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Tuesday, August 30th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
