Sandra J. Casey

Sandra J. Casey, 72, passed away on Sunday morning, July 1st at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Nashua on January 10, 1946, daughter of Roland E. Parker, Jr. and Jeannette (Martin) Parker. Sandy graduated from Wilton High School and had attended college in Boston. She worked at Parker Apple Farm in Lyndeborough for many years and, like many of the youth in the area at the time, at Hayward Farms, scooping ice cream and as a server in the restaurant. She married John J Casey, Jr. on December 3, 1966 and had celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2016 with a party attended by her family and friends. She had a fun loving spirit with a great sense of humor and a deep love for family. She had many friends in the horse community and she and Jack raised Morgans for many years. She enjoyed playing games with her friends at Hampshire Hills until her failing health last summer. She was a sales representative for Suburban Propane and retired from Energy North in 2012. In addition to her husband, family members include a son, John J. Casey III of Manchester; a brother, John Parker and his wife Phyllis of Merrimack; three sisters, Nancy Demers and her husband Jean of Amherst, Martha Bergstrom and her husband Cliff Augst of Nashua, and Betty Lowe and her husband Pat Cramer of Norfolk, VA; several nieces and nephews and her beloved schnauzer, Sam. Visiting hours are on Thursday, July 5th from 5:00-7:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home.
