Ruth M. Bean

Ruth Mae Bean, 69, resident of Milford, NH died on January 23, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 1, 1946, the daughter of Clyde W. and Violet (Kretschman) Sedgeman. Ruth grew up in California where she met and married her husband Phil and started their family. Before making their home in Milford in 1986, they spent five years in Alaska. Ruth pursued her passion for quilting and was a member of the Bedford Friendship Quilt Guild. She also expressed her creativity through crafting jewelry. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed camping and traveling. Above all else, it was her family that meant the world to her and she cherished the time spent with them at family gatherings. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and most especially adored her grandchildren. Ruth was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. Family members include her husband of 49 years, Phillip Bean of Milford; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Julie Bean of Portsmouth, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and William Campbell of Amherst, NH, Kelly and Derek Jackson of Bedford, NH; and four grandchildren. Calling hours are on Wednesday, January 27th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst in the spring.
