Ruth E. Stinson

Ruth E. Stinson passed away in the early morning of July 5, 2012 in Wilson, North Carolina. She was 87. Born to Claude Worcester and Ella (Poehlman) on May 31, 1925 in Manchester NH, the third of four sisters, she graduated from Manchester West High School in 1943. She married Winston Herbert Stinson on August 23, 1947, and they made their home in Milford, NH. They remained married until his death on April 21, 2007. Although proudest of her role as homemaker and mother, she earned the friendship and respect of many in her roles in customer service and as a bookkeeper, most notably for the Public Service Company of NH and for the Town Clerk Office of Milford NH. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Stinson, PhD and Joy Barnitz, PhD of Fremont, CA; Scot & Harriet Stinson of Wilson, NC; one sister, Edith Schmidtchen of Bedford, NH and many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will immediately follow.
