Ruth E. Rogers, 96, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Hanover Hill Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on January 23, 1927, in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Patrick and Annie (Fyffe) O’Kelly. Raised in Rockland, MA.
She married George A. Rogers and together had made their home in Milford, NH, since 1957. She was very active in the Ladies VFW Auxiliary locally, Milford Women’s Club, Gardening club. the First Congregational Church of Milford and the Milford bowling league. Ruth also enjoyed playing bridge, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth and George’s house was the gathering place for their children, and grandchildren: her house and pool was a place of joy for all her children and grandchildren. Ruth’s parties, her cooking, and her dessert table, will be fondly remembered. Her perfectly picked out holiday cards for each child, grandchild and great-grandchild will be greatly missed. Ruth attended every family birthday, graduation, dance recital, engagement party, wedding and annual trip to Friendly Farm, her love and dedication to her family will be carried on in their hearts and her presence will be missed deeply.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Ruth, was predeceased by her loving husband, George Rogers in 2002.
Survivors include her four children, Merrie and Robert Boggia of Amherst, NH, Robin Rogers of Milford, NH, Cynthia and Frank Coffey of Amherst, NH and George A. and Luzelena Rogers Jr. of Lowell, MA, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her former son-in-law and good friend, Wayne Kincaid of Milford, NH.
SERVICES: A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00-11:00am in the First Congregational Church of Milford, 10 Union Street, Milford, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH. Donations in her memory may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Gift Fund, P.O. Box 188, Milford, NH 03055.
