Rose M. Draper, 90, longtime resident of Wilton, NH, died July 1, 2011 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Jaffrey, NH. She was born in Milford, NH on September 15, 1920, a daughter of Santo and Sebastiana (Passanisi) Mannino. Mrs. Draper was raised and educated in Milford. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1938 and attended Nashua Business School. She made her home in Wilton for over 60 years and had been employed as a secretary at The O.K. Tool Company, Milford for over 25 years. Mrs. Draper enjoyed knitting, stenciling, tole painting and paper cutting. She was an avid reader, especially of Agatha Christie novels and mystery stories. In addition, she enjoyed traveling across the United States, throughout Europe and visiting relatives in Sicily, a highlight of her travels was a trip with her husband on The Orient Express She was a member of Puritan-Charity-Themis-Atlantic Chapter #29 Order of Eastern Star, where she had served as Worthy Matron and was active statewide. Mrs. Draper was predeceased by her husband, George G. Draper, Jr., and a brother, Vincent Mannino. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and truly loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her excellent spaghetti and meatballs. Family members include her daughter, Lynne E. Draper of Wilton; a son, George G. Draper, III and his wife, Anne of Bow, NH; two granddaughters, Hayden Draper of Fryeburg, ME and Maria Draper of Bow, NH; a sister, Anne Zahn of Milford; a brother, Leonard Mannino, Sr. and his wife, Brenda of Wells, ME; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Thursday, July 7th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Wilton Public & Gregg Free Library, 7 Forest Road, P.O. Box 420, Wilton, NH 03086.
