Ronald H. Gerstenberger, age 88, of Amherst, NH, graduated from this earthly life to life eternal on October 28th, 2016. Born in Methuen, MA in August of 1928 to Arthur W. and Gertrude M. (Hugel) Gerstenberger, he was married in 1956 to Beverly (Schoerner) for 60 years. He graduated from E.F. Searles High School in Methuen in 1946. Most of his working career was with engineering construction companies in project management. His employment resulted in assignments in the United States, Canada, Central and South America and Europe. He also lived in eight states and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 with service in Korea. He retired in 2001. His hobbies included photography, winning several awards. He also enjoyed owning field trial beagles. He previously served as President of the Amherst Historical Society and, together with his wife, were New Hampshire representatives for Bridges for Peace. He was also a founding and current member of NH4 Israel and was a long-time member of Household of Faith in Amherst. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Arthur Gerstenberger of Hanover, NH. Members of his family include his wife Beverly, three children; Neil (Lois) of Douglasville, GA; Shari (Rod) Allwood of Mentor, OH; and Roger (Patty) of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All are welcome to attend a Service of Remembrance to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5th, at Household of Faith, Amherst. Burial will be private in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Memorial gifts can be made to Bridges for Peace, P.O. Box 410037, Melbourne, FL 32941-0037.
