Rocco C. Morgera

Rocco C. � Rocky� Morgera, 81, resident of Amherst, NH, died August 25, 2009 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on August 30, 1927, a son of the late Celestino and Ernestina (DeSimone) Morgera. Mr. Morgera resided in Amherst for the past 3 years and formerly lived in Nashua, NH for 8 years and Burlington, MA for most of his life. He had been employed as a service manager of Sears Automotive, Burlington, MA for more than 20 years. Mr. Morgera loved music and played the accordion, keyboard and guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, taking trips to the ocean and dancing, especially the waltz. He was truly a people person and was deeply devoted to his family. Mr. Morgera was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, Bedford, NH. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served during World War II. Family members include his wife of 54 years, Gloria (Joy) Morgera of Amherst, NH; three sons, Stephen A. Desio of So. California, Glenn J. Desio of Deering, NH and Mark M. Morgera of Irvine, CA; three daughters, Linda M. Bannister of Mont Vernon, NH, Diana L. Smith of Amherst, NH and Rhonda I. Morgera of Nashua, NH; 17 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Thursday, August 27th from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the V.A. Medical Center, Oncology Department, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104.
