Robert W. Stewart, 92, resident of Brookline, NH, died on October 14, 2015 at his home. He was born in Pepperell, MA on June 16, 1923, a son of Leslie and Gertrude (Wright) Stewart. Mr. Stewart made his home in Brookline for more than 60 years. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Amherst Country Club, where he shot multiple holes-in-one. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, snowmobiling and ice fishing. For many years he was employed by Raytheon, where he worked as a machinist. Mr. Stewart was a World War II veteran, having served with the US Army. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary E. (Silver) Stewart, who died on October 10, 2015; two sons, Bruce Stewart and Billy Stewart; two brothers, Clyde Stewart and Skip Stewart. Family members include his son, Robert E. Stewart and his wife, Mary of Lynnfield, MA; a daughter, Barbara Maylin and her husband, Larry of Brookline, NH; a daughter-in-law, Susan Stewart of Merrimack, NH; 9 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Sylvester of Amherst, NH and Gerri Hamilton of Pepperell, MA; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army of Nashua, New Hampshire, 1 Montgomery Avenue, Nashua, NH 03060.
