Robert W. Holt, longtime resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died peacefully on July 14, 2021, at Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born in Belfast, Maine, on June 27, 1938, the son of Robert F. and Iola (Stone) Holt. Robert was raised and educated in Belfast, Maine, and Brockton schools, and attended Wentworth Inst. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in military intelligence/cryptography, and was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked for some time with RCA where he served in support of the DOD operations during the Apollo XI mission, the First Moon Landing Flight in 1969. In addition, Robert had also been employed as an electronics technician and retired from Lockheed Martin. In his earlier years, Robert was an uphill motorcycle racer and still enjoyed attending motorcycle meets. He was a member of several motorcycle and antique automobile clubs, and lifetime member of the Germany Philatelic Society. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Lucy (Suitor) Holt, of Mont Vernon; a sister, Joyce Chamberlain, of Belfast, Maine; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and traveling buddy, Gerry Griffin. Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Save the Elephants Foundation or person's choice.
