Robert G. Scott, 89, resident of Milford, NH, died November 17, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in Windham, NH on May 7, 1923, son of the late Harold and Edith (Coombs) Scott. Raised and educated in Nashua, NH, he made his home in Mont Vernon and Milford for more than 45 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during World War II. Mr. Scott was employed for 18 years at Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Milford, until his retirement in 1985. Prior to that, he worked for various manufacturing companies in Nashua and owned H.W. Scott & Son, a construction business, with his father. He was passionate about golf and following his retirement, went to work for Buckmeadow Golf Club in Amherst, NH where he proudly won three club championships. In his earlier years he also loved to play basketball, baseball, and tennis. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, painting, and was a model train enthusiast. He enjoyed doing projects around the house and helping others with their projects. He was an avid NE sports fan. Family members include his wife of 46 years, Grace E. (Taylor) Scott of Milford; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard and Sylvia Scott of Merrimack, NH and David Scott of Manchester, NH; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Ron Vincent of Bow, NH, Melody and Fred Lawrence of Mont Vernon, NH, Robin Hoey of Amherst, NH and Kim Mercier of Manchester, NH; eleven grandchildren, Shawn, Laurie, Sarah, Kristin, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Lily, Lucas, Jared, Zachary, and Samuel; five great-grandchildren, Danielle, Hannah, Sophia, Carl, and Amelia; a sister, Beverly Haven of Nashua, NH; a great niece, Amy Haven; a cousin, Gladys Burdick of Derry, NH. He was predeceased by a nephew, Jeff Haven. At Bob’s request, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102.
