Robert E. Miskelly

Robert Edward Miskelly, 85, resident of Amherst, NH, died on January 11, 2024, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, after a period of declining health.

Robert was born on February 18, 1938, in Boston, MA, a son of the late Raymond Eugene and Jessie (Bain) Miskelly. Robert grew up in Plymouth, MA and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH.

Robert was married to Brenda Loring Miskelly, of Kingston, MA, for 61 years. Together they raised their two children in Reston, VA and Strafford Village, PA until moving to New Hampshire, to be closer to family, in 2014.

Robert, known fondly as Bob, was a loving family man. Enjoying family events, outings, and vacations to locations like Stowe VT, Boothbay Harbor ME, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Bob had a successful career at the New England Life Company for many years.

Bob was a passionate sports fan. Seeing many Red Sox games as a child with his father as well as playing tennis at the neighborhood court on Holmes Terrace, Plymouth, MA. Over the years he was so pleased to watch the rise of the Patriots and the end of the “Curse of the Bambino”.

Bob’s passion for sports transferred to his passion for work and any activity he was involved in. Whether it be a community event at the Amherst Lions Club or Church activity he was happy to help his community. He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church in Milford, NH.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Loring Miskelly of Amherst, NH, his daughter, Jennifer Miskelly Dillon of Amherst, NH, son and daughter-in-law, Rob Loring and Danika Liebenow Miskelly of East Greenwich, RI, his granddaughters, Kathryn Loring Marchwicz of VA, Megan Rose Kolodny of MA and Eleanor Samantha Miskelly of RI, great granddaughter, Mackenzie Marchwicz, his brother, Donald Miskelly of Ossipee, NH. Bob was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Miskelly Peterson of Pawleys Island, SC.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3 @2pm at the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH. Burial will be private at a later date.
