Robert (Bob) A. Bergeron, 82, a 55 year resident of Mason, NH, passed away at his home on Friday, February 7, 2025.
He was born on October 2, 1942, in Leominster, MA, the son of the late Alfred and Mae (Lamoureux) Bergeron.
Bob was raised on the same street in Leominster, MA as his future wife Pauline.
He was a talented machinist whose interest originated from his grandfather’s influence. He was a proud graduate of Saxon Trade School, and worked at General Electric while in school. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force. He married Pauline (Christoforo) on May 29, 1965. They were stationed in Texas and then Guam where he maintained KC-135 bomber planes. After being honorably discharged, they moved to Mason, NH in 1970. He returned to General Electric and worked in their tool and dye department in Fitchburg, MA.
Bob was a longtime member of the Mason Fire Department, active on the town planning board and heavily involved in all the happenings of Mason. Fireman’s Bend was named in his honor after a fire truck tipping incident in 1976. Bob also enjoyed reading to the kids at Mason Elementary in his later years. He loved his community and was very proud to be a part of it.
Bob was well known for helping friends and neighbors with any project they had. He was very proud of the family home he build with his sons and the barn he built with his daughter. He was brilliant at fabricating anything out of metal.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Bergeron of Mason, NH, his sister Virginia (Leo) Poulin of Bluffton, SC; his four children, Anthony and Roberta Bergeron of Temple, NH, Christopher and Jennifer Bergeron of Manchester, NH, Peter and Christine Bergeron of New Ipswich, NH, Amy Jean Bergeron of Mason, NH, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and sister Cathy Erikkson.
SERVICES: A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Mason Congregational Church, 33 Valley Road, Mason, NH. All are invited to a reception in the fellowship hall following the service to share refreshments and stories. Private burial will be held in the spring in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mason, NH.
