Robert B. Pollock

Robert Bruce Pollock, 85, longtime resident of Wilton, NH, died on January 25, 2013 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida following a brief illness. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 31, 1927, a son of Kenneth Pollock and Ethel (Dickie) Pollock. He had lived in Lawrence, MA and moved to Wilton, NH in 1933. He graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1945 and attended the University of New Hampshire. Robert was employed and retired from Draper Fuel Company and the Wilton Telephone Company. He was a longtime member of the Wilton Fire Department and had served as a Deputy Fire Chief. Robert was married to Charlotte (McCallum) Pollock for 55 years. They both enjoyed family and friends in Wilton as well as Daytona Beach, Florida. He was active in the community, where he was a member of the Wilton Lyndeboro Cooperative Building Committee, Cooperative Budget Committee and was a member of the founding committee for Goss Park. In addition, he was an original member of the Wilton Lyndeboro Winter Wanderers, Wilton Rifle Club, Independent Telephone Pioneers of America and the Granite State Horse Society. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte McCallum Pollock; a daughter, Sandra Pollock; a brother, Joseph Pollock; and a sister, Sara Pollock Wyman Mack. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Pollock and Karen Hatch of Hampton, NH, John Pollock and Claire McCarthy of Wilton, NH. He was the loving Grandfather to Nicholas, Terra, Kaitlyn and Elizabeth. Robert is also survived by a brother, Wendell Pollock of Keene, NH and a sister, Loretta Pollock of Jaffrey, NH. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 2nd from 1:00-4:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A family burial will be held in the spring.
