Robert A. Ducharme, Sr.

Robert A. Ducharme, Sr., 72, resident of Amherst, NH, died September 15, 2009 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born in Groveton, NH on December 30, 1936, a son of the late John A. & Nellie M. (Carter) Ducharme. Mr. Ducharme resided in Amherst for the past 45 years. He had been employed by Fimbel Overhead Door Company for 27 years. Mr. Ducharme was an avid bowler and a member of the bowling league at Leda Lanes in Nashua. He loved baseball and had coached the Amherst Little League and Babe Ruth. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged on November 27, 1957. Mr. Ducharme was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Nashua. He was predeceased by three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Family members include his wife of 49 years, Annette (Judd) Ducharme of Amherst, NH; a daughter, Karen L. O�Neill and her fianc�e, Robert Moran of Southbridge, MA; three sons, Stephen S. Ducharme and his fianc�, Annette Waddington of Hudson, NH, Robert A. Ducharme, Jr. of Amherst, NH, Marc A. Ducharme and his wife, Heidi of Weare, NH; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Counter and Joy Duford, both of St. Johnsbury, VT, Shirley Greenwood of Claremont, NH; two brothers, Dean Rexford of Nashua, NH and John Hamel of Claremont, NH; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Thursday, September 17th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday at 12:30 pm in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Highway, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Town of Amherst Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 960, Amherst, NH 03031.
