Rita I. Muentes

Rita I. Muentes, 89, former longtime resident of Milford, died on February 7, 2023 in Hampton, NH after a period of declining health.

She was born on January 12, 1934, in Guayaquil, Ecuador a daughter of the late Pablo and Fidelfia (Bedoya) Pineda.

Rita came to the United States in 1987 settling with her family in Boston, MA for many years. She and her husband, Jose, came to New Hampshire to be closer to some family around the early 2000’s. Rita was a devote Catholic and was very involved in knitting, crocheting and traveling. She most enjoyed time spent with her loving family. Rita will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jose in 2000 and her two sons.

Survivors include her children; Cesar Muentes of Milford, NH, Adam and Fatima Muentes of MA, Victor and Paulina Muentes of Ecuador, Silvia and Luis Lopez of MA and Cecilia and Byron of MA, her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055 followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM in the St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst St, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
