Rita C. Pelrine

Rita C. Pelrine, 99, resident of Amherst, NH died at her home on August 8, 2023.

She was born on July 12, 1924 in Cambridge, MA, a daughter of the late Morris and Monica (Gallant) Berry.

Rita was raised and educated locally in Cambridge, MA. Following high school, she worked a variety of jobs, including as a decoder for the government working out of Arlington Hall, VA, during WWII. She married Francis Pelrine in 1947 and together made their home in Massachusetts for many years. After the death of Francis in 1977, Rita, moved around the area with her children, finally settling in Amherst, NH for the last twenty years.

She enjoyed time spent painting, reading, watching tv and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband, Francis, brother Eugene and her great-granddaughter, Abigail.

Survivors include her children and their spouses; Gail and David Russo of Amherst, NH, Rita and Jack Kelleher of Framingham, MA and Jean and Richard Marcotti of Stoneham, MA, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: In accordance with her wish’s services will be held privately.
