Richard R. Rivard

Richard R. Rivard, 69, resident of Milford, died on November 25, 2012 at his home. He was born in Manchester, NH on September 9, 1943, a son of Armand B. and Marceline A. (Talbot) Rivard. Mr. Rivard resided in Milford for the past five years and formerly lived in Goffstown and Manchester for many years. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from New England College in 1976 and his Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 1978. Mr. Rivard graduated from New Hampshire Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1969. He was employed as a registered nurse for many years and had worked at New Hampshire Hospital, Lakeshore Hospital, Hampstead Hospital and Waterbury, CT Hospital. Later in his career, he had been employed as a rehabilitation counselor and a therapist. He loved baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He enjoyed visits to the ocean, bird watching, photography and was a movie buff. A communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Manchester, Richard was a devout catholic who lived his faith on a daily basis and was very kind and charitable. Family members include his wife, Diane J. (Dewey) Rivard of Milford; a son, Patrick W. Rivard of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Stephanie E. Rivard of Middletown, CT; a stepson, Connor May of Milford; two grandchildren, Audriana Sulls and Dominick Sulls; two brothers, Donald Rivard of Brookline, NH and Jerry Rivard of Temple, NH; several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Parish, 14 Elm Street, Manchester, NH. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Manchester.
