Richard L. Mcquade, Sr.

Richard L. McQuade, Sr., 72, resident of Lyndeborough, NH, died on June 22, 2010 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack NH. He was born in Greenfield, NH on December 18, 1937, a son of the late Robert and Harriet (Cochran) McQuade. Mr. McQuade made his home in Lyndeborough for more than 50 years. He had been a member of the Lyndeborough Volunteer Fire Department for many years. In addition, he coached several local soccer and baseball teams and was also a Boy Scout Leader. Mr. McQuade was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan, who also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, horseshoes, and bowling. He had been employed as a supervisor for Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Milford, for more than 47 years. Mr. McQuade was a U.S Navy veteran and was honorably discharged in 1962. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather. Mr. McQuade was predeceased by a son-in-law, Russell Fuller, Jr. Family members include his wife of 51 years, Caroline J. (Simpson) McQuade of Lyndeborough; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Fuller of Hillsborough, NH, Deborah and Robert Fuller of Lyndeborough, Linda and Randy Pelchat of Hillsborough, NH; a son, Richard L. McQuade, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Lyndeborough; 10 Grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Sue McQuade of Washington, NH, Robert McQuade, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Colchester, VT; two sisters and a brother in-law, Diane Dunham of Allenstown NH, Shirley and Mark Davis of Manchester NH; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Penelope Simpson of Lyndeborough, NH; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Friday, June 25th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Antrim Baptist Church, 85 Main Street, Antrim NH. Burial with military honors will follow in South Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Lyndebough NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lyndeborough Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 159, Lyndeborough, NH 03082.
