Nashua—Richard H. Haas, 93, also of Gilford, NH, and Bradenton, FL, died November 22, 2018. He was born in Snyder, NY, June 25, 1925, to Emil and Charlotte (Henry) Haas. He had one sister, Georgia. He grew up in Newton MA. He is an alumni of Governor Dummer Academy, The Governors Academy of Byfield, MA, and an alumni of Tufts University, in Boston, MA. He served in the Army Air Force as a Navigator on a B29 Bomber during WWII. He was also employed by Sears Roebuck for many years as a financial auditor. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He and his wife Judy, raised their family in Nashua, NH. They were members of the Nashua Country Club and were both avid golfers. They were also early supporters of the Nashua music scene and provided a rehearsal space for their children and fellow musicians as well as supporting their performance efforts. Some of these young musicians eventually formed the band known as Aces and Eights in Nashua, who are still performing today. The family spent many summers with their friends and neighbors on camping trips around New England. He had a special place in his heart for Nantucket Island and spent many summers there with his family. One of his favorite hobbies was operating a Hamm radio. After his retirement he and his wife built a house on Mountain Drive in Gilford, NH with a view of Lake Winnipesaukee. There they entertained friends and family with their beautiful views and excursions on the boat around the Lake. In their later years, they purchased a condo in Bradenton FL where they spent the winter months. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Julia Parker Haas (Judy). He is survived by his three children, Richard H. Haas Jr., Bradenton, FL, Roger E. Haas of Mont Vernon, NH, and Nancy L. Haas, of Boscawen, NH, six grandchildren, Shanna Cote, Ryan Haas, Benjamin Haas, Christopher Haas, Alexander Haas, and Dana Ruland, and twelve great grandchildren. He also is survived by several nieces, and nephews He will be laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. It will be a private ceremony. A celebration of life is planned for later.
