Richard E. Shamp, Jr.

Richard E. Shamp, Jr., 57, longtime resident of Brookline, NH, died on January 15, 2017 at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA. He was born in Germany on October 23, 1959, a son of Evelyn (Roe) Shamp of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Richard E. Shamp, Sr. He graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School, Class of 1978 and has made his home in Brookline, NH for more than 35 years. Rich owned and operated Spectrum Landscaping & Excavating, Inc. in Brookline for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved the outdoors, camping and hunting. He spent his life working and truly enjoyed helping people in any way he could. Rich was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Lennan. In addition to his mother, family members include his daughter, Andrea L. Shamp of Lowell, MA: four sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Scott Mailloux of Lake Park, FL, Karen and John McDermott of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Cathy Shamp of Lowell, MA and Sandra McCullin of Tampa, FL; a brother-in-law, Michael Lennan; his longtime girlfriend, Susan Freeman; a niece, Makenzie Lennan; three nephews, Kyle McCullin, Jeffrey and Daniel Mailloux; and several cousins. The family of Rich Shamp would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Rich's close friends and Hood Road neighbors for all their kindness, love, and support expressed and given during the past several years. Your kindness has helped lift our spirits and will aid in the healing process. Memorial visiting hours are on Friday, January 20th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a Celebration of His Life at 5:30 p.m. at 38 Hood Road, Brookline, NH.
