Richard D. Greeley, 80, lifelong resident of Wilton, NH, died May 5, 2009 at The Elms Care & Rehabilitation Center in Milford, NH. He was born on the family farm in Wilton, NH on June 29, 1928, a son of the late Vernon & Hattie (Fish) Greeley. Mr. Greeley was raised and educated in Wilton and graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1946. He owned and operated Greeley Farm, a successful dairy farm in Wilton, for 40 years. Mr. Greeley was the director of the Farm Bureau for 14 years, Farm Bureau Advisory Committee (Hillsboro) for 7 years and Eastern Breeders Advisory Council for 8 years. For 43 years, he was a cattle dealer in New Hampshire and Vermont. Mr. Greeley volunteered much of his time to the Wilton community having served as a Selectman for 21 years, was a member of the Planning Board, Budget Committee, the Capital Improvement Plan, Master Plan (Zoning) and the County ASCS Board. In addition, he was a member of the Governor�s Council. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Greeley and a granddaughter, Ashley S. Curtis. Family members include his wife of 57 years, Marilyn (Rudis) Greeley of Wilton, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Debbie Greeley of Wilton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta & Steve Curtis of Milford, NH; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; two sisters, Joyce Fisk and Jean Vincent, both of Wilton, NH; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Ashley S.
