Rena L. Barbour

Rena L. Barbour, 91, resident of Franklin, NH, died on August 18, 2015 at Franklin Regional Hospital, Franklin, NH. She was born in Milford, NH on December 10, 1923, a daughter of Nicola and Maria (Amato) Calvetti. She made her home in Franklin for the past 26 years and formerly lived in Nashua, NH for 44 years. Mrs. Barbour had been employed by Sanders Associates, Nashua, NH for several years. While living in Nashua, she was a member of the Emblem Club and Elks Lodge #420, and a member of the Apollo Club and Senior Citizens Club in Franklin. In addition, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Paul’s Church. Mrs. Barbour loved spending time with her family and doting on her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas B. Barbour, Jr., who died in 1987 and a sister, Esther Baybutt. Family members include two sons, Dennis E. Barbour of Standish, ME, Kevin L. Barbour and his wife, Carole of Sanbornton, NH; four grandchildren, Quinn Barbour, Kier Barbour and his wife, Kristen, all of Sanbornton, NH, Jeffrey Barbour and Christy Barbour, both of Standish, ME; many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, August 20th from 10:00-11:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301 or the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
