Raymond Pollock, 94, resident of Milford, died on May 25, 2013 at Crestwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Milford. He was born in Manchester, NH on September 11, 1918, a son of James and Elizabeth (Brimner) Pollock. Mr. Pollock was raised and educated in Manchester and graduated from West High School. Mr. Pollock was a licensed master plumber and pipe fitter. He had been employed by Hillsboro Mills in Wilton for many years and prior to his retirement, he had also worked at Nashua Corporation for 15 years. He was passionate about gardening and took great pride caring for and tending to his vegetable garden and sharing with his family and neighbors, often taking much of his produce to the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Mr. Pollock was a member of the Benevolent Lodge #7 F & AM, Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW, Milford, where he had also served as a Past Commander. He attended the Milford United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theatre and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Radioman, Third Class. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Smith) Pollock, who died in 1997. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Marjorie Pollock of Wilton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Whiting of Town and Country, MO; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Friday, May 31st from 9:30-10:30 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by funeral services at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Sol Amor Hospice, 170 South River Road, Bldg. #2, Bedford, NH 03110.
