Raymond P. Regan Jr., 72, resident of Milford, NH died at his home on October 16, 2013. Raymond was born in New Bedford, MA on February 28, 1941, a son of Marjorie (Stronach) Regan and Raymond P. Regan Sr. Raymond’s family moved to Milford, NH and he graduated from Milford Area Senior High School, Class of 1959. Raymond was an outstanding student and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He graduated from MIT class of 1963. Years later Raymond also attended and earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of New Hampshire, School of Law. He took and passed the Bar Exam. He gave back generously to both MIT and the UNH School of Law. After graduating from MIT, Raymond worked as a Science Teacher. He was well liked by his students and was awarded “Best Teacher” by popular vote from a radio station. In addition, he also worked for many years at PVA �" EPVA before retiring. Raymond enjoyed playing ice hockey on the ponds around Milford, going for walks, playing guitar, writing, reading, photography, mathematics, physics and listening to jazz music. Raymond spent many hours on his ham radio and had an amateur radio license, his call sign was NE1K. He also belonged to the Monadnock Writers Group. According to Raymond, he particularly enjoyed relativity theory because much of what it predicts is counter-intuitive, it’s a nice source of story ideas. Although, he didn’t publish it, Raymond spent 10 years writing a novel “Wasps in a Bottle”. It was an interesting story that takes place in Milford, NH and surrounding towns. He was a volunteer radio host for Granite State Radio which later became NH Public Radio. Raymond was pre- deceased by his parents and a sister, Karen (Regan) Gibbons. Family members include a sister, Patricia (Regan) Mahon of Verona, NJ; a brother-in-law, Henry Gibbons of Milford, NH; six nieces and nephews, William Mahon, Kevin Mahon, Kimberly Gibbons Paige, Christopher Gibbons, Shannon Gibbons and Susan Gibbons Paradise; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wadleigh Memorial Library, 49 Nashua Street, Milford, NH 03055.
