Pietro “Pete” Savo DBA , MAS, CAM, AS/BS , 61, resident of Mont Vernon, NH died suddenly on June 12, 2021 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on July 16, 1959 a son of Guilio and Antonia (Cusano) Savo of Shelton, CT. Pete was raised and educated in Shelton, CT. He was a graduate of Shelton HS, class of 1978, BS Business Administration from Sacred Heart University 1999, Masters in Aeronautical Science in Human Factors from Embry Riddle University 2004, Dartmouth College School of Business Executive Program 2006, Doctorate in Business Administration Jones International University, Summa Cum Laude 2011. Pete served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1982 as Petty Officer Second Class. He was employed as a Professor and Department Chair at Dean College, Franklin, MA, and Trident University. In 2019 he was recognized as Trident University Teacher of The Year. In addition, Pete was an Adjunct Professor at Granite State College, Southern New Hampshire University and New England College. He married Patricia B. (Gorman), his best friend, in 1982 and together they made their home in Mont Vernon, NH for the last twenty years. He enjoyed restoring their colonial 1770’s vintage home in Mont Vernon and loved working in his yard. Pete obtained his pilot’s license and loved flying fixed wing planes. He was a proud patriot who loved the U.S.A. In addition, he was a member of the Benevolent Lodge #7 F&AM, Milford, NH. As an Italian-American he was always all about family- and everyone was family. Just recently he was able to visit his beloved parents after a long Covid separation. He has two adored sisters and his “little” brother whom he loved very much. His six children were his world, which only got better when his three sons-in-law and five grandchildren arrived. They all belonged to him, and he belonged to them. Each one was always his favorite. Favorite quote “I’ve loved you all my life” was heard almost every day. He was hands-down Favorite Uncle Pete to 32 nieces and nephews and three great nieces. His cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives are too many to count, but each one knew they counted to him. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. In addition to his parents, family members include his wife of 38 years Patricia Savo of Mont Vernon, NH, his six children: Bridget and (Michael) Phillips and their children, Elizabeth and Eleanor of Amherst, NH, Caitlin and (Ross) Roberge and their children Mitchell Peter, Tenley of Mont Vernon, NH, Alicia and (Matthew) Moquin and their daughter Ella of Foster, RI, 2nd Petty Officer Surface Warfare USN Daniel Savo of Newport News, VA, Tiana Savo and Dante Pietro Savo both of Mont Vernon, NH; twin sisters, Teresa and (Dr. Joseph) Anquillare of Newington, CT, and Maria and (Fernando) Pellegrino of Bethany, CT; a brother, Guilio A. and (Julie) Savo of Claremont, NH; 32 nieces and nephews; three great nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours are on Wednesday, June 16th from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will follow with military honors in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pete may be directed to the Dr. Pietro (Pete) Savo Student Support Fund at Dean College, providing financial assistance to students in the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security program.
