Phyllis J. Howell

Phyllis J. Howell, 87, longtime resident of Milford, NH died on April 7, 2016 at the Elms Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born in Nashua, NH on December 30, 1928, a daughter of Earl J. Alexander and Lena (Hill) Alexander Paro. She was raised in Hudson, NH and graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1946 and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Practical Nursing, Class of 1976. Phyllis worked as an LPN at Greenbriar Nursing Home, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Brookside Hospital and also did private duty nursing for many years. She attended Household of Faith Church in Amherst and was active in various Christian ministries. In addition, she had played the piano in a number of churches and sung in their choirs. Phyllis was predeceased by two husbands, Donald C. Davis and Joseph A. Howell; and two sons, Wayne Davis and Thomas Davis. Family members include a son, Steve Davis of Oshkosh, WI; three daughters, Virginia Davis of Wilton, NH, Lynn LaRue of Milford, NH and Phyllis Adamson of ID; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 10:30 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.
