Philemene S. Ruonala

Philemene S. Ruonala, 92, resident of Milford, NH, died June 20, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare Center-Crestwood, Milford.� She was born in Springfield, MA on December 21, 1915, a daughter of the late John & Anna M. (Johnson) Galletly.� Mrs. Ruonala resided in Milford for more than 80 years.� She had been employed as a retail clerk at Darlings Gift Shop, The Card Shop and had also worked at County Stores and the Milford Cooperative Bank.� Mrs. Ruonala was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church for well over 80 years.� She was active in many church groups, taught Sunday school, served on many committees and was a member of the Helping Hands.� She was Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of New Hampshire and Past District Deputy President.� In addition, Mrs. Ruonala received the Declaration of Chivalry, was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant and Ladies Encampment, Past Noble Grand of Custos Morum Rebekah Lodge #23, Milford, where she had held many offices.� She loved to knit, crochet and made many pairs of mittens for the different craft fairs.� Mrs. Ruonala was predeceased by her husband, Edward O. Ruonala, who died in 1977.� She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.� Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack & Gail Ruonala of Milford, NH, Frederick & Cheri Ruonala of Dover, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol & Cecil Rowlette of Brookline, NH; 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.�������� There are no visiting hours.� A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 am in the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH.� Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.� In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Milford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 476, Milford, NH� 03055.�
