Paul Martinez

Paul Martinez, 41, resident of Milford, NH, died on January 31, 2015 at his home. He was born in Honduras on July 22, 1973, a son of Pablo E. and Teodosia (Mejia) Martinez of Bronx, NY. His humble upbringing began in Tornabe; a village in Honduras; a Garifuna community so rich with cultural traditions and family that those early years were recalled often. He was so proud of his Garinagu roots and continued to celebrate his heritage throughout his life. He immigrated to the USA in 1985 to the Bronx where he lived for many years. In 2000 his quest for higher education brought him to Massachusetts where his circle of friends grew exponentially. It was not long before he decided to relocate to NH permanently to start a family, ultimately buying his dream home in Milford. He enjoyed everything musical, singing and dancing, riding motorcycles, and driving tractor trailers, a job that he loved. He loved the beach, traveling, and visiting theme parks. Watching his son play sports and attending his daughters recitals were amongst his most treasured moments. He was a man that brought his contagious smile and personality into every room he entered. He was always there for anybody that needed him. Paul’s greatest joy came from playing with his children and spending time with his family. His vibrance and charisma were second to none. He was a loving husband and father, a devoted son and brother and a true friend held in the highest regards by many. In addition to his parents, family members include his wife, Megan C. (Porter) Martinez , a son, Dayseanne P. Martinez; a daughter, Reina I. Martinez, of Milford and his third child, a son, Phoenix, is expected in the spring. His twin sister, Veronica “Bubu” Martinez-Brown of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Tito Martinez of Bronx, NY and Ivan Martinez of Charleston, WV; two godsons, Joron and Joey Brown; two goddaughters, “Jaida Bug” and “Lily Girl” and a nephew Tristan Martinez; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and “family”. Visiting hours are on Friday, February 6th from 5:00-9:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by cremation.
