Patricia “Patty” A. Birner, 66, a resident of Greenville, NH died on December 15 at her home after a period of declining health. She was born on March 22, 1955 during a snow storm in Nashua, NH a daughter of the late Elmer Duncan and Elizabeth (Kimball) Wright. Patty was raised and educated in Hollis and graduated from Hollis High School class of 1973. After graduation Patty attended Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Christian education. She married George Birner in 1986, and they resided in Milford, Wilton, Hollis and have lived in Greenville for the last five years. Patty was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church in Hollis, where she taught Sunday school, worked with the youth group, women’s group and the missions team, remaining in contact with some missionaries until recently. She taught elementary school, both Christian and public and special needs children and left her teaching career to care for her elderly parents. Patty took a semester off during her senior year in college to help her father at home caring for the farm with vegetable gardens, berry bushes and fruit trees. Later in her life she cared for her parents for over fifteen years as their main caregiver. She cherished being able to care for them, which allowed them to remain in their own home until their deaths at 92 and 91 years old. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, trips to the ocean, gardening and hiking. She was a very loving and caring woman and enjoyed her time spent with her family. In addition to her parents, Patty, was predeceased by her sister, Jane Skelly, TN. Survivors include her loving husband, George Birner of Greenville, NH, her three stepdaughters; Stacey Birner of Teriffville, CT, Sandy and (Howie) Hawthorne of Middletown, CT and Amy Lynn and (Chase) Peterson of Gilford, NH; her siblings; Susan and (John) Laub of Brookline, NH, Margaret Wright of Wagner, OK, Richard and (Donna) Wright of Whitefield, NH, Katherine and (Stephen) Kushmerek of Henniker, NH and William and (Barbara) Wright of Pepperell, MA and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. A springtime graveside service will be held in the East Cemetery, Hollis, NH, date and time to be announced.
