Norman Fraser

Norman Fraser, 85, resident of Wareham, MA, died on January 8, 2011 at Tremont Nursing Home, Wareham, MA. He was born in Greenville, NH on March 31, 1925, a son of Leo J. and Wilma (Christian) Fraser. Mr. Fraser resided in Wareham for several years and formerly lived on Cape Cod for 15 years and in Milford, NH for many years. He had been employed as a welder for Abbott Machine, Wilton, NH for 30 years. Mr. Fraser was an avid woodworker and enjoyed gardening. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II and was discharged on February 21, 1946 with the rank of Seaman, First Class. In addition, he was a member of Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23 American Legion, Milford. While living in Milford, he was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of the Milford Council #3035 Knights of Columbus, where he served as Past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth V. (Dutton) Fraser, who died in 2001 and his twin brother, Victor J. Fraser. Family members include several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER ON WEDNESDAY. There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on THURSDAY, January 13th at 9:30 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Everyone is invited to meet at church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Nativity Preparatory School, 39 Lamartine Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
