Nicholas R. Lawrence

On December 29, 2018, Heaven gained a new angel as Nicholas R. Lawrence passed away after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Nick lived a very full life in only half a lifetime. His passing has left all that knew him completely heartbroken. He will be extremely missed and forever remembered as a devoted family member and fiercely loyal friend. Nick, son of Frederick and Melody (Drouin) Lawrence, was born on September 1, 1982, in Nashua, NH. He was raised in Mont Vernon, NH, where he always treasured the memories of growing up in a small town. He graduated from Souhegan High School in 2001 and then earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology at the University of New Hampshire in 2006. He worked at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH, for eight years. In January 2015, Nick relocated to San Francisco, CA, after accepting a position as a Cardiac Physiologist at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Mission Bay Cardiology where he was loved and respected by all he worked with. He loved his career and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. Nick's true passion was sports which he participated in, from a very young age, throughout high school and beyond. He was an enthusiastic New England sports fan, though he admired and respected skilled and humble athletes no matter who they played for. He enjoyed the simple things in life and asked nothing for himself. He loved vacations with his family and friends, especially to Newfound Lake, but sitting around a fire at home with them made him just as happy. Nick was so much fun to be around as he had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and a very infectious laugh which will be sorely missed. He made many enduring friendships from virtually every stage of his life. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Nicky knew how beautiful and caring his heart was; he was so wise and taught us so many lessons along the way. The heartache of losing such a wonderful, kind, and loving man is immeasurable. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kristi and Nathaniel Kearney of Redding, CT, and sister, Mackenzie Lawrence, of Mont Vernon, NH; a niece, Elizabeth Kearney, and a nephew, Niles Kearney of Redding, CT; maternal grandmother, Grace Scott, of Amherst, NH; and paternal grandmother, Ann Reed, of Mont Vernon, NH; his beloved aunt, Robin Hoey, of Amherst, NH; several extended family members; and many dear friends who he considered family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12th, at 10 AM at the First Congregational Church, 10 Union Street, Milford, NH.
