Nancy C. Swanson

Nancy C. Swanson, 79, resident of Milford, NH died on October 22, 2013 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH surrounded by her loving family She was born in Waukegan, IL on July 31, 1934, a daughter of David and Hilda (Nordstrom) Lundgren. She was raised and educated in Illinois. Nancy made her home in Milford for the past 19 years, Amherst for 5 years and had previously lived in Colorado for many years. Mrs. Swanson was a school teacher and had worked for the Douglas County School District in Castle Rock, CO for several years. She was a longtime member of the Milford Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where she was active in the ministry and loved talking about the Bible. Mrs. Swanson enjoyed playing the piano, loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and was a regular patron at Café on The Oval. She was predeceased by a son, Craig Swanson, a grandson, Peter Jesse Fredrickson and a brother, Marvin Lundgren. Family members include her husband of 56 years, August W Swanson of Milford; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Marie Swanson, Andrew and Dajana Swanson, all of North Las Vegas, NV; two daughters and a sons-in-law, Karen and Peter Fredrickson, Susan and Robert Stark, all of Milford; eight grandchildren, William, Tyler, Nathan, Michelle, Kristy, Kimberly, Danica and David and two great grandchildren, Riley and Jade. Visiting hours are on Saturday, October 26th from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. The Memorial Service will be Sunday, October 27th at 4:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 928 Gibbons Highway (Route 101), Wilton. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Castle Rock, CO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Milford Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses c/o 814 Mason Road, Wilton, NH 03086.
