Nancy A. Dickinson

Nancy Ann Dickinson, 88, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on May 17, 2024 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH.

Nancy was born on May 5, 1936, to the late Earl and Lillian (Nelson) McNally of Fitchburg, MA. Nancy graduated from Fitchburg High School, Class of 1954.

It was there she met Arnold Dickinson. After graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from Mount Ida College with a degree in Laboratory Technology. In 1957, Arnold and Nancy married and moved to Virginia, as Arnold was then working for the FAA. Nancy was employed at the Alexandria Hospital, and Circle Terrace Hospital in Alexandria. In 1967, the couple adopted a bouncing baby boy, who was the joy of their lives. In 1968, they moved to Amherst, NH, where they remained until Nancy passed on May 17, 2024.

Family members include her loving husband, Arnold Dickinson of Amherst, NH; a son, Scott Dickinson of Hooksett, NH; two grandchildren; a sister, Donna Parviainen of FL; and many other nieces and nephews living throughout the USA.

Though she spent much of her time being a full-time mother, she was much more than that. She often volunteered at church, a woman’s group, and in school, as well as a den mother of the Cub Scouts. She spent countless hours as a sports mom as well as a cheerleader. She never gave up her love for traveling.
