Michael J. Barbetta, 61, resident of Milford, NH died on February 24, 2018 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was born in Dorchester, MA on May 8, 1956, a son of Richard J. and Florence (Allen) Barbetta. He was raised and educated in Hull, MA and graduated from Hull High School, Class of 1974. Michael made his home in Milford for the past 30 years. He was a bricklayer and mason for Local #3 Boston and there are many places you can go in New England and stop, admire his work and remember him. Michael was the kindest and gentlest man you ever met. He loved to socialize and spend time with all of his family and friends. He truly loved being around people and doing whatever made them happy. He loved to go on long road trips in the car or on his motorcycle. He enjoyed fishing on his boat and watching sports with his sons. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was the best “Popsey” ever. He was predeceased by a son, Michael C. Barbetta; and a sister, Ritajean Putnam. Family members include his loving wife, Lillian I. (Leonard) Barbetta of Milford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason A. and Chrystal Barbetta of Milford; two grandchildren, Natalee Lambert and Colton Barbetta; two sisters, Jacqueline Estes of Anna Maria Island, FL, JoAnne Nickerson of Marshfield, MA; and a brother, Richard J. Barbetta, Jr. of Plymouth, MA; many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours are on Thursday, March 8th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford.
