Mckinley Hatfield

McKinley “Mac” Hatfield, 86, resident of Milford, NH died on March 20, 2015 at The Elms Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. He was born in Tiffin, Ohio on August 20, 1928, a son of McKinley W. and Ophelia (Price) Hatfield. He made his home in Milford for the past 16 years and formerly lived in Temple, NH for 24 years. He and his family enjoyed spending weekends at Lake Massasecum in Bradford, NH. Prior to his retirement as a Line Supervisor, Mr. Hatfield had been employed by PSNH for 26 years and had later worked at Kollsman Instruments in Merrimack, NH as a maintenance supervisor for 10 years. In his earlier years he was a little league coach and always enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Mac was as a Justice of the Peace and performed the marriage ceremonies for two of his stepsons. He was a 50 year member of Clinton Lodge #52 F & AM, Wilton, NH and had served as Senior Warden. Mr. Hatfield was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Hudson, NH Post #48. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Barbara E. (Blood) Spaulding Hatfield of Milford, NH; three daughters, Christine Hatfield of Deerfield, NH, Ellen Hatfield, U.S. Air Force, Travis AFB, CA and Lisa Fleming of Mullsbury, England; seven stepchildren, Janice Mellen of Dundee, FL, Pamela Potter of Swanzey, NH, Marion Spaulding of Colchester, CT, Phyllis Spaulding of Wilton, NH, Charles S. Spaulding of Bradford, NH, Andrew W. Spaulding of Brookline, NH and David E. Spaulding of Bennington, NH; 16 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Joyce Moore of Denver, IN and Janis Miller of Hazel, KY; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
