Maureen M. Roy

Maureen M. Roy, 79, a resident of Bedford, NH, died at the Bedford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on February 18, 2022 after a period of declining health. She was born on January 13, 1943 in Jamaica, NY, a daughter of the late Philip and Florence (Dooley) Dempsey. Maureen was raised and educated in New York and graduated from Seton Hall High School in 1961. She moved to NH after marrying her husband, Robert, and held various jobs throughout the years, retiring from The PLUS Company. She enjoyed photography, spending time with family and friends, reading, singing, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, all things Irish and traveling. She and her husband enjoyed many trips together including to Ireland, Italy, Hawaii and Bermuda. Above all, Maureen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit and sweet tooth. In addition to her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her son, Michael in 2005, and her siblings, Jack, Peggy, Joe and Joan. Family members include her beloved husband, Robert Roy of Bedford, NH, her two daughters, Laraine Roy of Nashua, NH and Marybeth Roy of Rocky Hill, CT, her sister, Kathleen Dempsey of New Boston, NH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
