Mary L. Lawrence, 84, former longtime resident of New Ipswich, NH, died at Crestwood Center on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 15, 1939, in Jamestown, KS, daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Webb) Stegmaier.
Mary was raised and educated in Jamestown, KS and graduated class of 1958 from Jamestown High School.
She met Ivers P. Lawrence II and they married in 1961, and together made their home at Blue Gates on Whittemore Hill Road. Ivers passed away in 2006.
Mary was a longtime member of the New Ipswich Congregational Church where she and her husband worshipped for over 50 years. She was active in the annual Children’s Fair and refreshment committee, as well as Bible study group. She was also a member of the social organization, the Red Hat Society.
She loved being a homemaker and mother raising three active children and a variety of pets.
Mary enjoyed the serenity of her home and the various wildlife and birds that lived throughout the woods surrounding the property. She was an excellent baker, and her pies were coveted by her family and patrons of the New Ipswich Congregational Church’s Annual Children’s Fair bakery table. Every summer she and her family enjoyed lake life on Billy Ward Pond in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
Survivors include her three children, Ivers and his wife Irene Lawrence III of South Royalston, MA, David and his wife Melinda Lawrence of Pepperell, MA, and Jane and her husband Garret Vandermolen of Waltham, MA.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on September 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the New Ipswich Congregational Church, 156 Main Street, New Ipswich, NH. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, New Ipswich.
