Mary Gokey

Mary Gokey, 77, resident of Amherst, NH, died August 22, 2009 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born in Boston, MA on July 30, 1932, a daughter of the late John A. and Carmella (Parsi) DelCorso. Mrs. Gokey was raised and educated in Roslindale, MA and graduated from Roslindale High School. She has been a resident of Amherst for more than 30 years. In her younger years, she had worked for John Hancock Insurance Company, Boston, MA. Mrs. Gokey was an avid reader, enjoyed trips to the ocean, going to yard sales and flea markets. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother. Family members include her husband of 53 years, Frederick J. Gokey of Amherst, NH; three daughters, Carolyn Gokey of Manchester, NH, Ruth P. Connolly of Lewisburg, PA and Jennifer K. Chandler of Milford, NH; a son, John F. Gokey of Pawtucket, RI; three granddaughters and two grandsons. There are no services.
