Mary Cox

Mary Cox, 83, resident of Milford, NH, died January 21, 2010 at Crestwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Milford. She was born in Jonesboro, Maine on March 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Oscar and Alice (Fish) Mawhinney. Mrs. Cox resided in Milford for 17 years and formerly lived in Bedford, NH for more than 30 years and Jonesboro, Maine for many years. She enjoyed genealogy research, bible study groups, counter cross-stitch, music and especially playing the piano. Mrs. Cox also enjoyed her many friends at Beech Brook and getting together to play dominoes and cribbage. Mrs. Cox was a longtime member of The Jonesboro Union Church, Jonesboro, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Darrell R. Cox, who died in 1996; a brother, William Mawhinney of Belfast, Maine and a sister, Lila Smith of Monmouth, Maine. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen G. & Paulina Cox of Mont Vernon, NH, Norman D. & Lou Ann Cox of Greenville, NH; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Robertson of Lewiston, ME; several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on February 6th at 3:00 pm in the Beech Brook Community Room, 80 Adams Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Share Outreach, Inc., 1 Columbus Avenue, Milford, NH 03055.
